Damon Braces are similar to traditional braces however they do not require ties to attach to the wire. Damon Braces have a door attached to the bracket that opens and closes with a special instrument. The metal doors provide less friction than typical rubber or steel ties which may reduce the time necessary to initially straighten teeth. The metal doors also can help activate the wires over a longer period of time which allows for longer time between office visits. Damon braces have advantages over traditional braces but still require careful treatment planning from your orthodontist and patient cooperation to get the best result possible!
